Any spilled material can harmful to the environment if not handled properly and with care.The worst-case would be a biohazard and must be handled with extreme care for the safety of all concerned. We support the plastic bag ban, finding them in parking lots, hedges and at times in the tops of trees or along the roadway sometimes blocking the storm drain flooding the parking lot. Litter or rubbish is often a problem with storm water run-off and the cost of cleaning out these drains can be prohibitive. Storm water runs untreated into our rivers and streams.
